Valentines' Day...

Well, I have officially worn vomit TWICE today already, and it's not even noon! Are you serious!??! I'm hoping that it's purely the result of a yucky cough and not...dare, I say it...the stomach bug coming back with a vengeance! The events of today have made me so glad that Sam and I made our Valentines' Day plans for LAST night. We enjoyed a great evening at a restaurant down town that we normally wouldn't go to, but it may become a favorite for special date nights.
Our evening had a rough start. Sam was late; I was running behind trying to get myself ready, trying to keep 3 kids from destroying the house WHILE I got ready, and then I wasn't really feeling that great. On top of it all, my daughter in all of her 5 year old honesty gave me a nice "compliment" about my outfit--that is sarcasm, in case you missed it---it was hardly a compliment. Nothing like the words of a 5 year old to land me on the treadmill ASAP! Oh well, my dear brought beautiful flowers home with him...and after a heart to heart on the way to dinner...we were able to relax and enjoy each other's company. It was so nice...we talked about NOW, the FUTURE, where we've come from. It was great. We talked about the kids---some struggles, some of the really neat things, etc. It was wonderful. He was able to open my door for me, walk with his hand on the small of my back...y'know all those things that don't happen when each of you has a child in your arms, and a bag on your shoulder!
The kids are excited about the day. We've got a nice family dinner planned...complete with heart shaped brownies, of course. And I am praying that our little "Tank" will be on the mend very quickly!
I pray that you all are able to enjoy this "over commercialized" day appreciating the simple joy of one of the biggest blessings we have in our lives...those we have to love. I can't imagine my life without any of my special Valentines...both big and small! Happy Valentines' Day, dear ones!
